Khushnuma – The 1st recipient of ACE-3WC Scholarship

Shabnam an illiterate woman living in a slum of South Delhi has been slogging day in and day out just to provide her four daughters the required education and skills to lead a respectable life.

Her day starts early morning around 5 o’clock. She prepares breakfast and lunch for her husband and daughters and goes out in the nearby colony of K block, Kalkaji to work as domestic help. She aspires to see her children going for higher studies and respectable jobs. Therefore, she send them all to school despite her poor financial condition. Her husband works in a factory and earns a meager salary.

Shabnam’s eldest two daughters are studying in class X and third one is in Class VII  in a government School in the vicinity. Khushnuma is the youngest one studying in a private school. She is the only hope for transforming Shabnam’s dreams into reality.

We salute Shabnam’s spirit and her upbringing! We wish her good luck and offer our support in case the daughters need any help and guidance for their studies.
